ADERCO Fuel Additive - Technical Information

What is ADERCO Fuel Additive?

ADERCO is a patented, highly-concentrated, surfactant liquid, soluble in petroleum products. Its chemically-engineered detergent molecules are specially synthesised to eliminate many of the problems caused by modern fuels.

ADERCO is not a combustion catalyst. It interacts physically with the fuel and starts working as soon as it is added to the tank, conditioning the fuel for optimum combustion.

ADERCO is 100% organic; it contains no metals and is completely burned during the combustion process leaving no ash. It is recognized as non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-hazardous.

ADERCO has a high flash point of over 140°C - meaning it does not evaporate in your fuel tank.

ADERCO is manufactured by ADERCO Inc. of Canada. It was originally designed for the marine industry and has been used extensively in that demanding sector for 30 years.

1 litre of ADERCO treats 5000 litres of fuel. It is available in 500mL and 1L bottles. Higher concentrations and larger volume containers are available, depending on the application.

Why is ADERCO needed?
The quality of fuel has altered in recent years due to changes in production processes. Modern distillates tend to have a higher aromatic content which adversely affects the combustion process. This means longer ignition delays and combustion that proceeds more slowly, resulting in incomplete combustion that produces soot which fouls the engine components and increases particulate emissions.

Furthermore, some operations will suffer from other problems such as water contamination and stratification of fuel.
